Snakeskin & Giveaway

Eight Sixty snake shift dress // United Colors of Bennetton (old, similar) // Carrano sandals // Chloé Marcie satchel // Michele MW2 watch // By Erin Gordon bracelets (no longer available, similar) // David Yurman amethyst cuff// David Yurman buckle bracelet // David Yurman ring

Two fun things going on this afternoon - an outfit post & a giveaway! But first the outfit... There's something fun about a little flirty shift dress for the day. I can't say I've ever worn a snake print dress before, but this shift is so easy to toss on and go. I dressed it down with cute metallic leather sandals (love how their brad is Carrano, so close to my last name Carreno) and my jean jacket, which I've had for at least a decade! But that doesn't mean it can be easily dressed up with nude wedges or black pumps and some statement jewelry. Shop the post below:

Now for a humpday treat! A few weeks ago I shared some products from my friends at Organaca (see here), well I wanted to give my readers a chance to try out some of their great Organic products for themselves.

So as temps rise and summer nears, it's good to get prepared for beach weather... and what better way to do so than with a beach ready kit of Organaca products. Simply enter through the widget below for a chance to win these four great products (valued at over $160!!) - you have until next Wednesday to enter, good luck! xx

Equipment

Y'all, Equipment blouses have been my jam the last couple of weeks. How great is the lime green for spring?! And while I seriously can't believe that April is pushing towards May, I've been working on adding color back into my wardrobe as the temps have been edging on gorgeous. Hope you had a Hoppy Easter! xx

TGIF

Cheers friends, it's finally Friday!! I'm kicking-off a three day weekend and couldn't be more thrilled. My family will be together for the holiday along with Rick and his family. I'm excited for a little R&R, aka sleeping in :) and of course some girl time with my mom. I've ordered a dress similar to this for Easter, hopefully it works, I admit I cut it a tad close this time on my outfit decision. You can shop some of the other dresses I had in mind for the holiday here: One // Two // Three// Four // Five. Hope you have a lovely weekend! xx

Let's Shop: Shopbop Friends & Family

A few things I'm loving from the Shopbop Friends and Family Sale which started yesterday. I've already taken advantage of the discount and ordered this Rory Beca dress...but have my eye on a few other things like these shoes and this top, that I might just have to make it on back to my shopping cart and pull the trigger before the sale ends tomorrow! Be sure to enter code INTHEFAMILY14 at checkout for 25% off regular and sale priced items; happy shopping!

Flared

This Calypso tee has been one of my favorite purchases this spring - so comfortable and easy to throw on for errands or wandering around shops during the weekend. Flared denim hasn't been something I've gravitated to normally because of my height, but with some great hemming and a fun wedge, it can work for a 5'3 frame!
I don't know about you, but I am sure ready for the four day week and some quality time with family for Easter. Hope you have a great start to your week!

Let's Shop: Spring Accessories

Spring is finally here and boy am I excited! Also it's Friday, hooray! Who doesn't love a little dose of color and covet-worth spring time accessories to make the start to the weekend that much brighter.
I love a fun scarf to toss on an outfit - both brightening it up and serving as a wrap whenever it gets cold inside a restaurant, the movies, etc... which for me is almost always. Also loving this colorful beauty; it reminds me of a getaway to a Caribbean island. I currently have this NastyGal clear envelope clutch in my shopping cart - not only is it a steal, but so fun for warmer months ahead. I was recently introduced to the new Warby Parker Spectrum Sun collection, and while I've never personally tried their specs, I'm completely loving this fun, retro-ish collection with unique frame colors and sizes. Be sure to check out the entire collection here. As evident by my recent L.A. recap and Instagram posts, I think it's safe to say the Prada Saffiano is on my wish-list (...as close to the top as it could possibly get...) - I mean c'mon how gorg is this grey color?! It's always fun to pick out a few new pairs of shoes for the warmer temps, and I am absolutely loving Jack Rogers' take on the d'orsay. Of course too, I'm still lusting for some Superga sneaks, (last seen here and here), think it may be time to add some fun colored ones to my shoe collection.
Hope you had a great week and have a relaxing weekend ahead! xx

White Washed

As the temps begin to warm up, I've found myself reaching for lighter washed denim and airy, flowy tops. Gap denim is one of my favorites for their budget friendly, yet on point trend wise picks in the jeaan realm. I picked up yet another Equipment shirt (the obsession continues & the collection is ever-growing...) at their store on Melrose Place in L.A. As a self-proclaimed Equipment junkie, shopping their store and the endless amount of silk tops and blouses, was quite fun!
Sometimes it's fun to go a little jewelry crazy, which now looking back at these photos I definitely did. But, how great are the Kendra Scott tiger eye earrings?! Special thanks to Kendra Scott and Tidbits Houston for the awesome front row perks program and these fab earrings. Can't wait to style them in more outfits to come.
Be sure to shop the post and other picks below!

LaLa Land

Traveling made easier (and much more organized) with my Truffle No. 1 Clarity pouch in lilac. Pretty details like Prada sunnies, Kendra Scott earrings and an Ily Couture statement necklace don't hurt either.
While in L.A., my boyfriend Rick and I make sure to enjoy the wonderful eats the city has to offer. How cute is the Magnolia Bakery and it's rustic b+w diamond patterned floors located off of West 3rd street?!
Case in point, brunching at the delicious Urth Cafee in Beverly Hills. Dining al fresco + breakfast foods make my heart happy (Breakfast pizza and the best banana oatmeal, aka tasted like Bananas Foster, ever had!)
Rick found this cool place on Yelp. The Ice Cream Lab, literally steps away from Rodeo Drive, was one of the most unique, and coolest, ice cream shops I had ever been to! All organic and totally unique flavors, your ice cream is made right in front of you with liquid nitrogen.
But indulging on yummy food and sweets comes at a price. Albeit it the price of hiking up to this view wasn't worth complaining about. Saturday afternoon at Point Dume in Malibu was definitely picture perfect.
And we didn't stop there. After Malibu, we drove back to the city and hit up Runyon Canyon for an even tougher hike in the Hollywood Hills. Probably one of my favorite things to do in Los Angeles. The view on a clear day is absolutely priceless.
Of course no trip to L.A. is complete without a little retail therapy... I came thisssss close to pulling the trigger on one of these Prada Saffiano beauties. For right now, my bank account is thanking me - but who knows what the future holds!
And let's not forget to point out the papparazzi sightings. We stumbled upon this one while walking around Beverly Hills. Turns out (someone we'd never heard of) celebrity/actress/model Kelly Brooke was getting her nails done at this salon with her new fiance in tow. Rick was quite taken by the scene - I felt like I was in an episode of TMZ!
It's always a must to see my best friend Catie when visiting the City of Angels. On sunday we got the chance to catch up on stories and brunch at the super adorable Little Next Door on 3rd Street.
The boyfriend and I (un)intentionally coordinated our blues for brunch...
Trips to L.A. sure don't disappoint. It was definitely tough leaving such beautiful weather, but the long weekend in California was so fun and I can't wait to get back sooner rather than later!

Make sure to follow along on Instagram (@aecarreno) to see these photos and more, xx.
